Sparkling Germany much more than Efficient
Germany’s impressive 4-2 quarter-final victory over Greece at Euro 2012 – without three first-choice players – has the other countries in the tournament running scared.
And rightly so; the efficiency of German teams has become a footballing cliché, but labelling the current side as such would do Joachim Low’s side a major disservice.
They now look the main men in what is proving to be one of the most entertaining major finals for several years.
After a quiet and somewhat underwhelming start in the group – the 1-0 win over Portugal was dogged, determined but ruthless – Germany have built momentum, and appear best placed to win their first trophy since Euro 96.
Narrow Victories over the Netherlands and Denmark confirmed their qualification as group winners and, in the process, they achieved what no other country competing in the tournament could do by winning all three preliminary games.
If that was not enough to alert Spain, Italy, and even England, to their threat in Poland and Ukraine, then their thrilling destruction of an albeit limited Greek outfit certainly did.
The victory no doubt resulted in a few big payouts for those who enjoy betting with betvictor.com.
Low surprised plenty by leaving out three-goal frontman Mario Gomez and his support men, Thomas Mueller and Lukas Podolski, but they were still far too good for Greece and, in truth, should have won by more than 4-2.
Marco Reus and Andre Schurrle were both mightily impressive, as they came in to the side, while the ever-dependable Miroslav Klose weighed in with yet another key goal in a tournament. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Ozil, meanwhile, controlled the game from midfield – the duo’s influence on games cannot be underestimated – while Sami Khedira hit one of the goals of Euro 2012 with an outstanding volley.
The other teams left in the competition may well fancy their chances of success, but a well-oiled dynamic Germany, once again, have the ominous look of winners already. Get great odds with Bet Victor online.
