Mario Gomez is sparking his career back to life in Besiktas
Mario Gomez’s time in Fiorentina was underwhelming as the German attacker was plagued by injuries which kept him out of action for a significantly long period of time and he was eventually loaned out to Besikas on a season long deal and the Turkish club has the option of signing Gomez on a permanent deal.
Even though Gomez finished his last season by only scoring 4 goals in 20 appearances, this has not stopped Besiktas on taking a risk and signing Gomez on a loan deal and even though it has been less than 1 year since Gomez joined Besiktas, he has already made a huge impact after scoring 14 goals in 5 months with the Turkish side.
14 goals in 5 months might not seem like a very impressive feat but taking into consideration that Mario Gomez needed 2 years in order to score that same amount of goals, the German is going through a much better season which is good news for the German forward who is trying to spark his career back to life.
Besiktas has the option of turning the loan deal of Mario Gomez into a permanent one and for an extremely cheap price of only €1.000, all fingers are pointing towards Besiktas keeping hold of Mario Gomez beyond his current loan deal which is bad news for Manchester United as the Premier League club has been interested in signing Gomez for these past few transfer window but they have failed on signing him and Besiktas is now on an advantageous position of securing the services of a renowned player without having to spend a large amount of money.
“Gomez joined us on a loan deal with buy-out clause last summer and we can make his move permanent for €1.000.Last summer we paid a fee of €3.5 million for his loan, while Fiorentina have a percentage of next sale clause ” A technical director of Besiktas said as he revealed that Besiktas can sign Mario Gomez for only € 1.000.
