GOMEZ INJRY
Fiorentina man Mario Gomez suffered an injury just as Giuseppe Rossi also appeared to do his knee ligaments. This put the club at a major disadvantage in the race for the top three. Due to the signing of Gomez, who had won the Champions League in the summer, Fiorentina were expected to be one of the challenges for the top three or in fact the title. They have managed to sustain the race for the top three, but the injury to these key players has threatened to derail their campaign.
Gomez has taken to his official Facebook page to tell fans that he is close to recovering 100% and that they can expect to see him on the pitch sooner rather than later. He has also spoken about the pain of having to watch his teammates play without him. Gomez has not been playing for almost 4 months now, which is not the kind of absence Fiorentina would have been hoping when they signed him for around £ 15 million.
He has also paid tribute to Giuseppe Rossi, who he thinks is one of the best strikers in the world. However, the Italian is suspected to have damaged his knee ligaments for the third consecutive time, which put his future in question.
“As you can imagine, it’s not an easy situation for me. With Pepito (Giuseppe Rosssi) now injured, it’s nothing short of tragic. I’ve got my fingers crossed for him and wish him a speedy recovery. He is one of the best strikers in the world and we need him, just like I need to be playing football again now at long last. I don’t know if I’ve ever had such a difficult phase in my career. Two months have become almost four, and it’s starting to get on my nerves,” said Gomez.
